One of Jaltek’s in-house IPC and J-Std Trainers, Maria Turvey, has recently achieved Certification to Train to IPC J-STD-001ES. This allows Jaltek to establish processes to build boards for Space Applications as per the published Space Addendum.
The training was completed at ART’s facility in Essex, UK. ART are a leading IPC training organisation and are a member of the Space Electronics Assemblies J-STD-001 Addendum Task Group. This additional capability complements the extensive certifications that Jaltek already holds which include AS9100 (Aerospace & Defence) and the Kitemark to IPC-A-610.
J-STD-001 ES is the de-facto standard for the Space Industry and this new capability opens new and additional opportunities for Jaltek to work with customers putting products into space.
Commenting on her new qualification Maria Turvey said; “The course was intense and covered all aspects of manufacturing and soldering for the Space Industry. It’s great that we now have the in-house capability to train our operators to the highest level of J-STD-001. This qualification will continue to give confidence to our customers that their products meet the requirements of the most demanding manufacturing standards.”
